CHEMICAL CONTAMINATION & DISPOSAL

Miller Engineering works closely with chemical manufacturers, insurance companies, and attorneys in the prevention and mitigation of chemical contamination problems, both historical and present-day. Though these projects are often related to litigation, Miller Engineering also assists with interpretation of EPA's RCRA, Clean Water, and Clean Air regulations for chemical and hazardous waste disposal. In addition, chemical labeling requirements found in the above regulations, as well as in ANSI Z129.1 and OSHA standards, are used in the development of effective and compliant labeling for chemical manufacturers.

Several of these projects have been related to class action litigation, which may require expert services or testimony. We are willing to provide these services, which may include review of standards and regulations, both current and historical, assessment of contamination sources, and evaluation of the sources of and path to contaminated land and water.

Chemicals involved in Miller Engineering projects include:

  • Acetone
  • Arsenic
  • Asbestos
  • Benzene
  • n-Butyl Acetate
  • o-Dichlorobenzene
  • Methanol
  • n-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone
  • Methyl Ethyl Ketone
  • Methylene Chloride
  • Perchloroethylene (dry cleaning solvents)
  • Trichloroethylene
  • Vinyl Chloride (intermediary chemical in PVC production)
