Operating Farms & Renewable Energy Projects
Our affiliate companies operate over a thousand acres of farm, riverfront and timberlands in Idaho and Oregon, as well as a solar and hydroelectric power generating facilities designed and built by Miller Engineering. These properties operate with the usual farm equipment, including tractors, swathers, balers, planters, harvesters, tilling equipment, backhoes, skid steers, and ATVs. Crops produced include Idaho potatoes, alfalfa (starting point for local yogurt), barley for Coors and Budweiser, and corn. The properties are also home to 200 black angus cattle. The solar farm project was completed in 2019 and another is in the planning. The hydroelectric plant was completed in 2006 and currently being increased in response to renewable energy needs. These are in Twin Falls County, Idaho. A company residential-farm community being developed on the Columbia River in Oregon focuses on recreational housing for salmon fishing, boating and exploring guests, in addition to housing work crews building and rebuilding hydro, ethanol, and green energy facilities at the adjacent Port Westward.
These properties are available for various test or demonstration purposes of crops and equipment, and they are available for use by clients. We also use our contacts with our many local farmers to gather data about the equipment they buy and use. We are happy to make this connection to our farms available.
